Rockham Bay is within walking distance – challenging on the way back, but well worth the effort.  One can walk around the point to the left to Morte Point or right to Bull Point and the lighthouse and beyond towards Lee Bay.  The beach itself is a small rocky bay, interspersed with sandy nooks and when the tide is out there are a multitude of rock pools to explore.

The village of Mortehoe is also within walking distance with its local shops; including a post office/newsagent, a general store, delicatessen, restaurants; one of which is renowned as one of the best fish restaurants in the South West, fish and chip shop, three public houses all of which serve food, heritage centre and a church with a medieval history.

Woolacombe is also within walking distance, but if the picturesque (if steep!) walk back doesn’t appeal and you drive there is plenty of parking; pay car parks and on street.  The beach at Woolacombe is a 2 ½ mile stretch of golden sand ideal for both families and surfing.
